Danish Contemporary Design 1997 - 2009
For the opening exhibition, the gallery will be focusing on Danish pioneering design from the past 15 years, and produce and exhibit pieces by major contemporary designers such as Mathias Bengtsson, Louise Campbell, Rasmus Fenhann, Ditte Hammerstroem, Astrid Krogh, Cecilie Manz and Niels Hvass.
The gallery will be the first of its kind to specialize in Scandinavian contemporary design on an international level. Its major mission is to provide a platform for esthetically, intellectually and technologically challenging pieces from the new Nordic design scene, where the noble Scandinavian tradition for excellent craftsmanship is combined with startling new forms and multifaceted functionalism. Several of the designers represented by the gallery are already part of important museum collections such as the MOMA and the Centre Pompidou.
